Local Resources- St. Louis Area

MTUG is a grassroots nonprofit organization that is diligently working to create a more inclusive and supportive community in Saint Louis.  A group of trans people working for the betterment of trans people, MTUG brings together the community of trans, gender queer, androgynous, intersex and allies through community, visibility, advocacy, and education.  MTUG offers support groups and special events for gender-diverse adults, 18 years and older.

TransParent's mission:

  • Connecting families through locally established TransParent support groups.

  • Supporting and encouraging parents to act on behalf of their child’s best interest.

  • Organizing experienced and knowledgeable resources to assist families with their child’s gender journey.

 

By fulfilling this mission we empower gender independent children to live authentically.

PROMO is Missouri’s statewide organization advocating for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender equality through legislative action, electoral politics, grassroots organizing, and community education.

Youth between the ages of 13-24 can access FREE medical and social services in a safe, youth-friendly and comfortable environment. 

Youth can:

  1. access free health and prevention services;

  2. strive for positive educational and vocational outcomes;

  3. have a voice and influence in their communities through leadership opportunities.

By meeting people where they are and collaborating with others, PFLAG realizes its vision through:

  • Support for families, allies and people who are LGBTQ

  • Education for ourselves and others about the unique issues and challenges facing people who are LGBTQ

  • Advocacy in our communities to change attitudes and create policies and laws that achieve full equality for people who are LGBTQ

Growing American Youth is a social support organization for youth who live near St. Louis and who are 21 and under and may identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, asexual or questioning their sexual orientation or gender identity. Growing American Youth has been serving area youth for more than 30 years.

The St. Louis Gender Foundation is a not-for-profit support and educational resource for gender non-conforming adults. StLGF also welcomes significant others, caring professionals, and all who support freedom of gender expression.
